Banking VP moving to a fintech founder role
A 17 year banking veteran preparing to leave a large bank to co-found a payments startup. The CV had to do two jobs at once: close out the corporate chapter and open the founder one.
SITUATION
He was leaving a senior VP position to start a B2B payments business with two co-founders. He needed to close out his banking chapter cleanly without putting himself on the market, and open his founder presence without sounding like a placeholder.
WHAT WE FOUND
Two audiences, not one. Investors needed the founder bio and the deck. Banking peers and ex-clients needed a clean farewell and a clear next chapter. None of that fit on one CV.
WHAT WE CHANGED
We wrote a one page background note for warm introductions, a 220 word founder bio for the deck and press kit, and a fully rewritten LinkedIn profile that sat in the middle and kept both audiences comfortable. The deck itself came in a separate engagement.
OUTCOME
He raised a pre-seed round inside 9 weeks, anchored by two ex-employers as angels. The founder bio is now used verbatim on the company About page and on every deck cover.
